Environment Update 2015

There is no separate Environmental Task Group at present, as it is considered that the environment is core to any consideration of land use and development issues by all the other Issue Task Groups. The Plan Steering Group is currently leading on environment issues and passing them on for detailed consideration by the relevant Task Group. We welcome any views from local people on environmental or climate change issues.

A draft Sustainability Scoping Report has been produced and submitted to the statutory authorities. Their comments, and other revisions and updates are being incorporated into a final Report . This forms an important element of the Neighbourhood Plan.

It has been requested that the Plan considers how we are to prevent inappropriate fracking sites locally; and in light of recent controversial planning permissions also considers identifying potential sites for solar panels farms and the use of solar panels in the design of future housing and commercial buildings.
